A motor fed by a variable frequency drive needs a screened motor cable, and the screen must be continuous all the way from the drive to the motor. A standard isolator in the middle breaks that screen and lets electrical noise escape, which can disturb sensors, PLCs and communication networks. KATKO's EMC isolators keep the screen continuous with 360° EMC cable glands and a conductive enclosure connection.
The range covers polycarbonate KEM EMC units for smaller motors and sheet steel KUT EMC units up to 400 A. The code shows poles and current as usual, with EMC marking the shielded version.
If your plant has unexplained sensor faults or network errors on VFD-driven machines, the motor isolators are one of the first things to check. We supply EMC isolators and can review the drive installation on site.
