Thermal transfer overprinters (TTO) print on flexible packaging film and labels by pressing a heated print head against a ribbon. The result is crisp 300 DPI text, barcodes, QR codes and even ingredient panels — the standard for snack packs, frozen food, sachets and labels printed on form-fill-seal and flow-wrap machines.
DOCOD's R3000 series works in intermittent mode for machines where the film stops for each pack; the R4000 series works in both intermittent and continuous mode for faster machines, with print speeds up to 800 mm/s. Both come in 32 mm and 53 mm print widths, use 33–55 mm ribbons up to 800 metres long with a ribbon-saving mode, and have a 10-inch touch controller with network connection for traceability systems.
We supply TTO printers with brackets for your packaging machine and ribbons matched to your film. Send the machine type and film, and we recommend the model.
