5SL MCBs protect cables and loads in distribution boards and control panels. The 5SL6 series has a 6 kA rated breaking capacity, which suits most industrial sub-distribution and panel circuits. The code is easy to read: 5SL6 + number of poles + rated current, then -7 for the C characteristic or -6 for B. So 5SL6316-7 is a 3-pole, 16 A, C-curve breaker.
Use C-curve breakers for motors, transformers and loads with inrush current; B-curve breakers suit lighting and resistive loads with long cable runs. Busbars and auxiliary contacts are available for tidy board building.
