SIMATIC Basic Panels are the standard operator screens on Siemens-controlled machines: a colour touch display with tactile function keys, a PROFINET or PROFIBUS port and all the basic HMI functions — alarms, recipes, trends and user management. They are configured in WinCC Basic inside TIA Portal, so screens and PLC tags share one project with the S7-1200.
The second-generation panels come in 4, 7, 9 and 12-inch sizes. The 7-inch KTP700 Basic is the most common size on packaging, filling and process machines in Pakistan, while the KTP400 fits small control boxes.
