Relay modules decouple the PLC from the field: a 24 V PLC output switches the relay, and the relay contact switches a 230 V contactor coil, lamp or valve. They also protect expensive PLC outputs, because a damaged relay module costs far less than a damaged output card.
WAGO's 857 and 859 series are 6 mm wide, so a large number of relays fit on a short rail; the 857 carries 6 A per changeover contact and is available with 24 V DC or 24 V AC/DC input. The 788 series in a 15 mm housing handles higher loads — up to 16 A with one changeover contact or 8 A with two — and the 858 series offers four changeover contacts with manual operation for testing. All have a status LED and push-in connection.
We supply WAGO relay modules for new panels and replacements. Send the item number, or the coil voltage, contact type and current, and we match it.
